Heritage Green Retirement Home

UGEngineering designed the largest non-military off-grid solar PV and energy storage system in Ontario. The system powers the heating and cooling rooftop units in the buildings. In times during low solar generation, the loads are automatically transferred back to the grid until solar energy yields come back up. The retirement home was able to meet its objective of going solar despite the fact that they could not connect to the grid. The energy system provides significant peak shaving of the building’s electricity costs.
